Dear Editor: We’re asking the Republican Party of Florida to stay out of Osceola County elections. Thousands of dollars have been donated to the Erika Booth campaign fund by the Florida House Republican Campaign Committee for the state House of Representatives seat vacated by Fred Hawkins.

The opioid epidemic has impacted every community and demographic in some way. Fentanyl-related deaths have been connected to all age groups. It makes sense for older adults to be informed about drugs and the risks of fentanyl.

Today in America, approximately 18 million kids are growing up without a dad who’s actively engaged in their life. As someone who grew up without a father figure, I can relate to how painful that absence can be. Culturally, we often overlook the role fathers play in raising kids.

Dear Editor: After a career dedicated to K-12 students and public education in Osceola County, our Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace has just retired. We first got to know each other back in 2002 when she was an Assistant Principal working for then-Poinciana High School Principal Mike Brizindine.
