Osceola County's Teacher of the Year and School-Related Employee of the Year will be announced at the Education Awards ceremony Wednesday, March 10, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Osceola County School Board Administrative Office courtyard at 817 Bill Beck Blvd. in Kissimmee
Out of a field of 154 school-based and department educators and school-related employee nominees honored for excellence in their profession this year, the top district winners in both categories will be revealed from among the top 10 finalists.
Two large display windows at the School Board Administrative building will be unveiled to reveal the winners.
The following educators have been named as the top ten finalists for Teacher of the Year:
Carolyn Alvarez - Poinciana High - language arts/reading teacher
Morghan Cameron - St. Cloud Middle - social studies teacher
Tammie Combs - St. Cloud High - choral director
Christina Conde-Helman - Kissimmee Middle - social studies teacher
Katherine Kerr - Discovery Intermediate – math teacher
Ashley Thomas - Hickory Tree Elementary - kindergarten teacher
Susan Tribit – Lakeview Elementary - math and science teacher
Michelle MacMillan - East Lake Elementary - ESOL education specialist
Melissa Maldonado - Chestnut Elementary School for Science and Engineering - reading/literacy coach
Alvin Olivo - Osceola County School for the Arts - Digital Media and Computer Science Teacher

Dawn Parker - Tohopekaliga High - principal's secretary
Ivette Soto - Educational Choices and Innovation - clerk typist
Rachael Stewart - Osceola Technical College - placement and follow-up coordinator
Kathleen Williams - Harmony Middle School - nurse, LPN
Amy Wells - Special Programs - program assistant for families in transition program
