The Osceola County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in a July 2 movie theater shooting, and he's charged with a litany of crimes after being found in possession of a handgun, cannabis, drug paraphernalia and child pornography.
Ellis Sixto Reyes, 19, of Kissimmee is being held at the Osceola County Jail on no bond on a list of crimes that includes attempted murder, aggravated assault, and weapons and drug possession charges — a total of over 60 charges.
It stems from a shooting on Saturday, July 2 at the Regal Cinemas in The Loop, near John Young Parkway and Osceola Parkway. A 16-year-old victim was found shot. The Sheriff's Office said its Violent Crimes division was able to identify Reyes as the suspect, and obtain a warrant for
his arrest, which came early Wednesday morning.
Reyes was booked into jail on these charges:
Attempted Murder
Discharging a Firearm from a vehicle
Shooting into an Occupied Conveyance
Aggravated Assault with intent to commit a felony (4 counts)
Direct/Promote Sexual Performance by Child (17 counts)
Possess video of Sex Performance by Child (17 counts)
Transmission of Harmful Materials (17 counts)
Unlawful Use of Two-Way Communication Device
Carrying a Concealed Firearm
Possession of Cannabis over 20 grams
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of Control Substance
Court records show Reyes was pulled over on Osceola Parkway early on May 7 when police say the tag light on his vehicle was out. During the stop, police found Reyes had no driver's license, and the presence of cannabis in the vehicle. He missed a first court date on the charge and had a second hearing on July 1, the day prior to the movie theater shooting.
