Osceola County Property Appraiser Katrina Scarborough this week provided the 2023 estimates of taxable values for the purpose of developing next
fiscal year’s budgets.
In short, they're up -- big time.
“Osceola County continues to be one of the fastest growing counties in the nation," Scarborough said. "Residential and commercial market values throughout Osceola County are very strong and show gains near 20% over 2022. The county saw over $2 billion in new construction.”
Estimates of taxable property are up 14.98% in unincorporated Osceola County ($45.58 billion), 14.8% in Kissimmee ($5.59 billion), up 19.79% in St. Cloud ($4.45 billion) and up 18.38% among Osceola County School District holdings ($52.17 billion).
Assessed taxable values, along with millage rates (one is multiplied by the other) set property taxes, which explains why a property's taxes can increase when the millage rate stays the same.
