Lane to close on Neptune Road for sewer rehabilitation project

   Toho Water Authority is announcing the closure of the outside westbound lane on Neptune Road between Lind Avenue and Westchester Drive starting Tuesday, Oct. 20, at approximately 9 a.m. The lane closure is necessary to conduct a sewer rehabilitation project in the Glendale Drive area.

St. Cloud motorcyclist killed in head-on crash

A St. Cloud motorcyclist was killed in a crash Monday morning after being hit head-on by a SUV while trying to pass traffic.. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist, 21, was traveling northbound on Simpson Road at about 5:40 a.m.

The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is Oct. 24.

Osceola County  supports School District with $2.3 million for programs, equipment 

Osceola County commissioners are supporting the Osceola County School District with $2.3 million in CARES Act funds for computer equipment, rapid job training, basic education and language programs.

Poinciana High teacher under fire for racial comment

A Poinciana High School teacher is under fire after a video surfaced from her in the classroom uttering a racial comment.   According to media reports, the teacher made the comments during a discussion about the Black Lives Matter movement while a student was recording the teacher at the time.

Osceola County officials are advising that a section of Boggy Creek Road is tentatively scheduled for resurfacing from Oct. 18-23. The section of Boggy Creek Road is 1,000 feet east of Fells Cove Boulevard to 600 feet west of Lakes Edge Lane. Work will be performed nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
