Sarina Steele and Eli Christ each won three gold medals as the Harmony Longhorns won both the boys and girls Orange Belt Conference swimming championships at Makinson Aquatic Center in Kissimmee Thursday.

Morillo’s 4 TDs pace Gateway shutout

Aiden Morillo rushed for a career-high four touchdown,s and the Gateway defense posted its first shutout in five years as the Panthers took a 27-0 win over Liberty Monday night. The District 3S-8 game was a make-up from Oct. 1 postponement from Hurricane Ian.

St. Cloud used a big third quarter to break open a close game at the half to take a 44-6 victory Friday over Gateway. It was the Bulldogs' (4-2) fourth win in a row in what's been a spirited rivalry against the Panthers (1-3).

Osceola left little doubt it is the top high school volleyball team in the county by defeating Tohopekaliga in straight sets, 25-22, 25-20, 25-10, to claim the 2022 Orange Belt Conference Championship Thursday.

Hurricane Ian sent high school sports to a crashing halt last week. Friday’s football games were forced to Monday, then postponed again when Osceola County canceled school to Tuesday.

Storm, Tigers, Longhorns among favorites at OBC meet

Team and individual title will be on the line next week when St. Cloud High hosts the 2022 Orange Belt Conference cross country championships Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Harmony’s girls and Tohopekaliga’s boys are the defending team champions, but neither is assured of a repeat performance.
