Heritage Christian wins first FCC playoff game since 2019

Heritage Christian won its first Florida Christian Conference playoff game Friday, with an 83-45 home win over Land O’Lakes Christian. Senior Josue Hernandez led Heritage with 30 points, and Miles Peterson had 20.

While the early signing time came and went for many athletes, some still chose to ink their collegiate National Letters of Intent (NLI) on Wednesday, for years the “traditional” National Signing Day on the first Wednesday of February. Eight athletes, between Harmony and Osceola, inked grants.

Miguel Hernandez scored a first half goal off a set piece and the Celebration defense dominated the entire game as the Storm defeated Harmony, 2-0, to win the Class 7A, District 9 soccer championship on Wednesday night at Harmony.

Osceola wins 6th straight OBC in thrilling boys hoops win over Harmony

In a game where top-seeded Harmony never led, Osceola won its sixth consecutive Orange Belt Conference boys’ basketball title with a thrilling 46-44 win over the Longhorns Friday at Tohopekaliga High. The win was Osceola’s (13-11) sixth in a row and eighth in their last nine games.

When it comes to local domination, it’s more than time to add St. Cloud weightlifting to Osceola football and boys basketball and Celebration boys soccer as the best in the county.

Julio D’lima scored twice and Sebastian Ramis added an insurance goal as the Celebration Storm successfully defended their Orange Belt Conference boys’ soccer championship with a 3-1 win over host Gateway Friday.
