Chris Blanton returns to Celebration as head football coach

Chris Blanton, a former standout football player at Troy State who has coaching experience at several local high schools, has been named Celebration’s new head coach.Blanton replaces Jed Ebersole, who was hired in January but departed a month later among non-allowable recruiting allegations.

McClung, Queen earn All-G League honors

The NBA G League announced Thursday that Osceola Magic point guard Mac McClung has been named to the 2023-24 All-NBA G League First Team and fellow guard Trevelin Queen was named to the Second Team.It marks McClung's first time earning the league's top honors and the second time for Queen.

Four of Osceola County’s eight flag football squads earned places in the Class 1A and 2A state tournaments.Three won district championships Thursday and another, Harmony, earned a spot as a wild-card entry.Celebration, the District 2A-17 champion, will host Harmony at 7 p.m. St.

Addison Felblinger pitched a one-hitter and the Bulldogs’ bats came aliv, as St. Cloud throttled rival Osceola, 13-0, in the semifinals of the 2024 Orange Belt Conference Tournament Tuesday.Seeded No. 2, the Bulldogs improved to 9-10 and will meet arch-rival Harmony Friday at 7 p.m.
