A total of 713 Florida Senior Games athletes will compete at the 2025 National Senior Games, in Des Moines, Iowa, July 24-August 4. The total number of Florida athletes is the highest total of any state competing in the 2025 National Senior Games.Among them are eight athletes from Osceola County.

ALL-COUNTY BOYS TRACK — Great year for county, but Levi Lee went the distance

In a year of tremendous success on the track for many county athletes, none stood higher on the podium than Poinciana’s Levi Lee.The senior was the county’s lone state champion, winning the Class 4A state 1,600 meter championship, and is the Osceola News-Gazette Boys Track Athlete of the Year.

Although she was already a lethal scorer in her first two seasons at Harmony, junior striker Gabriella Guzman took it to the next level this past year, scoring 20 goals for the Longhorns and leading the team to familiar heights—Orange Belt Conference and district championships.

ALL-COUNTY BASEBALL: ‘Iceman’ Rivera was cool under pressure

After considerable debate with coaches and observers, and despite the impressive credentials posted by a number of players, Harmony pitcher Ismael Rivera is the Osceola News-Gazette Baseball Player of the Year for 2025.
“I just don’t think there was any question that he was the best player on the field for almost every game,” Storm Athletics Director and assistant coach Chad Boudreaux said. “He was a dominating player for us.”
