Kowboys stocked for ’22 after playoff loss

After its defense gave up just seven points to West Orange in Friday’s Class 8A regional semifinal playoff game, the Osceola Kowboys should be preparing for another game in a return to the state championship game.

Dwayne Webb, a longtime coach and teach in Osceola County, who inspired the lives of many students and athletes over a three-decade education career, will be remembered in a service Sunday at Gateway High School.

The Osceola Kowboys football team will gather on Monday, but it will be to turn in equipment. Returning to the site of their first district loss since 2010 in a Region 8A-3 semifinals, the Kowboys were met by a steady rain, a stern wind, and a tough West Orange defensive front.

County soccer preview: Teams look to turn experience into wins

Here are capsules for the county’s soccer programs, which began their regular seasons last week: Celebration Boys: Under head coach Chad Boudreaux, the Storm has been one of the top programs in the area, going 58-15-13 in the last four years and appearing in 18 post-season playoff games.

Kowboys look for another Monday

For the Osceola Kowboys, Friday’s playoff meeting with West Orange – a district foe who handed them a 35-21 loss last month – has nothing to do with revenge. It is simply another opportunity to guarantee “One More Monday,” — a traditional November rally cry at OHS.
