Businesses impacted by COVID-19 can learn more about Osceola County’s one-time grant program during a series of informational sessions.

The first will be held Wednesday at Extension Services hosted by the County’s Economic Development Department. The purpose of the sessions is to clarify the application process and eliminate any confusion. Staff will be available to assist between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Social Distancing Practices & Face Coverings Required.)

“We have funding available and we want to make sure that none of our businesses leave anything on the table,” said Osceola Commission Chairman Brandon Arrington. “With more than $3.2 million already distributed, these grants have already proven to be difference makers for many struggling businesses. We want to ensure that anyone who is eligible takes advantage of this opportunity.”

In addition to Wednesday’s event at Extension Services, the following sessions are scheduled:
Thursday, Dec. 10: Old Town – Event Space, 5770 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.
Thursday, Dec. 17: Osceola County Tax Collector’s Office – Campbell City, 4730 South Orange Blossom Trail.

In addition to in-person sessions, virtual sessions will be available on the same dates at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Business representatives must email economicdevelopmentCARES@osceola.org to register in advance for virtual sessions.

The Osceola County Board of County Commissioners continues to offer grants to businesses that were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. This is a grant, not a loan, therefore repayment is not required unless funds are not used for eligible expenses.

The grants provide critical support to help offset a portion of operational costs during the global pandemic, as well as, costs incurred in resuming operations while ensuring guest and staff safety. Eligible applicants may receive emergency funding on a reimbursement basis, based on the following tiers:

Up to $5,000 for home based businesses, and businesses with one (1) employee, or non-profits with no employees (volunteers only).
Up to $10,000 for applicants with 2-25 employees
Up to $20,000 for applicants with 26 or more employees

Application and details are available at www.weveopenedsafely.com/grant-program/.
