Wednesday Night Fishing is hot right now on West Lake Toho. Get in on the jackpot with an average first prize of $200. Last Wednesday the team of Richard and Dale brought 26 pounds to the scales that included the big fish of the night, a 7.82-pounder.

The tournaments are held every Wednesday, hosted by Toho Marine Outdoors. Launch is at 5 p.m. sharp with a weigh-in right at dark. Entry fees are $30 per boat, fish alone or with a partner. The tournaments run through the summer and end just before Daylight Savings Time starts. An average of 25 boats have been participating weekly.

The Toho Marine Elite Pro Team Trail completed its fourth tournament of the year out of Camp Mack on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes. The season started in January and consists of four tournaments a year with a Classic Tournament to be held in October on Lake Okeechobee. With a 60-boat field, the top three teams from last weekend were the father and son team of Levi and Roger Brown in first place with 27.95 pounds and the Big Bass of the day, a 9.60 pound Trophy Catch Florida qualifying bass. They pocketed over $5,000, not a bad day fishing! Second place went to the team of Bruce Vann and Preston Clark with 27.45 pounds, and third place went to Charlie Coleman and Chad Dowling with 23.54 pounds. The Team Of The Year for points was Garrett Rocamora and Jackson Williams. They will have their entry fees waived next year.

You may have noticed some tournament activity down at Lake Toho last Tuesday. The ICAST Cup was held to kick of the start of the ICAST (International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades) week here in Orlando. ICAST is a trade show-only event and is produced by the American Sportfishing Association. Teams were made up of professional angers, representatives of businesses in the fishing industry and a third member from the media. New this year to the Cup was a chance for female bass anglers to qualify for Team USA Bass and present the United States in the 2022 Pan American Black Bass Championship. The highest-finishing team of two female anglers earned a spot on the team.
