An Orlando man was killed before sunrise Monday when his car was struck by another turning from Orange Blossom Trail onto Ham Brown Road, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
At 5:15 a.m., FHP reports a Hyundai Sonata driven by a 40-year-old Orlando man was turning from westbound Orange Blossom onto Ham Brown, and was struck on the right side by a Honda Civic driven by a 33-year-old Brandon man headed east on Orange Blossom. The Honda ran off the road after the impact and struck a concrete utility pole.
Both were transported to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, troopers say. The Hyundai driver, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced deceased there, while the Honda driver, who reportedly was wearing his seat belt, was transported in serious condition.
A roadblock at the intersection for the investigation was cleared around 11 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
