Susan Elizabeth “Sooze” Lohmann passed away at her home April 2nd, 2020.
Sooze was born in Port Washington, Wisconsin, on February 4, 1946, to the late Ralph and Olive Lohmann and her childhood home was in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.
Additionally to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Lohmann, who passed away on August 28, 2013. She is survived by her brother, Peter (Christine) Lohmann; her sister, Chris (James) Becker, who she was very protective of, and many nieces and nephews.
She attended Florida State University and graduated from Marion College in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin in 1969 with a BS in Education. Sooze worked in the Osceola School System for almost 30 years with her last years being the Computer Lab teacher at Highlands Elementary in Kissimmee, Fl. A job she loved as she got to see all the children each week and give them a big smile and hugs. Sooze was a kind, loving, gentle spirit who loved her family, friends and all animals, especially her own “kitties”, along with the numerous “homeless” cats in her neighborhood. Yes, she was lovingly called “The Cat Lady”.
She enjoyed being in nature and was a “tree hugger”. She also enjoyed baseball all her life and was a big fan of the Tampa Bay Rays. Her faith in goodness was very strong and an inspiration to many people. She will be greatly missed but we will always remember her telling us “Be Happy!”
