POINCIANA NEWS — Love the Library — lots to do for the family

Mouse & Keyboard Basics takes place on Thursday, Sep. 3 from 10-11 a.m. at the Poinciana Library. Step into the online with ease by getting hands on with your mouse and keyboard. Learn how to click, navigate and use basic keys.

The LEGO Club for school aged children is back! It meets Thursday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Build a LEGO masterpiece using your imagination, creativity and engineering skills.

Through the Lens of Time on Saturday, Sept. 5 from 2-3 p.m. explores local history. View historic and modern photos, guessing locations and comparing past and present scenes. This is an America250 event.

Rhythm, Rhyme & Storytime takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 8 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. This program is for up to age 5. Sing, swing and sway through this program dedicated to music and movement.

That’s followed by Baby and Me from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Hug your little ones while sharing this special first-time experience. This is for children up to 18 months. This program introduces books with playtime and repetitive music.

Crochet 101 takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 8 from 2 to 3 p.m. Learn the art of crochet, create patterns and leave lasting memories. Supplies are provided. Registration is required, call 407-742-8888.

Flex Your Fingers takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Spend quality time with your preschooler in a kid’s centered learning environment. Participate in pre-planned activities that encourage the development of fine motor skills.

This month’s Paint the Town takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 1-2 p.m. unlock your creativity by painting a masterpiece! Supplies are provided. Registration is required. To register, call 407-742-8888.

The Wishing Spell takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. School aged children may enter the magical world of The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell! Crack enchanted clues, conquer a charmed escape room, create magical keep sakes and bring the fairy tale story to life.

Get ready for some great reading! The Osceola Friends of the Library’s Book Sale takes Sept.10-12. This is a great opportunity to stock your bookshelves while supporting the “Friends” and the amazing Library programs they support.

Poinciana Library is located at 101 N. Doverplum Ave. All Library programs are free and open to the public.

 

Barkapalooza takes place on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Poinciana Dog Park (5100 Allegheny Road). All dogs, all people are welcome to this free event.
