“Hug your kids a little tighter tonight” appeared on social media posts again recently in the wake of devastating stories of child sexual abuse, pornography and death in and around Osceola County. Parents instinctively scramble to shelter their children when cases such as these surface, while knowing deep down that they can’t protect them from every potential harm. It can be an overwhelming feeling, but there are some programs that can help parents—and their kids— be cautious and have some power in a world that can feel out of control.

Clerk’s Office offers drivers ‘Green Light’ to pay fines, reinstate licenses

Do you owe fees to the Osceola County courts related to your driver license? Is it suspended, and are the fees to get it back in standing a bit much? Those who have cases in Osceola County that are currently referred to a collection agency by the Osceola Clerk of the Circuit Court & County Comptroller for past due court obligations can feel quite a burden. Those drivers have the chance to lift that burden beginning Monday, March 25 during the annual Operation Green Light program.

County approves another Osceola Prosper year, school zone speed cameras

Osceola County Commissioners approved two measures at Monday’s meeting to help the lives of the county’s students. As part of the consent agenda, the board approved $8.3 million in local funding for the Osceola Prosper program, meaning that, for the third year in a row, all graduates from Osceola County high schools, charter schools, alternative high Schools, private Schools or those home schooled can enroll in a degree or certificate program at Valencia College or Osceola Technical College without tuition cost.
