Wild Florida opened its expanded Drive-thru Safari Park today. Once an 85-acre exhibit, it has expanded to a total of 170 acres. It will eventually feature more exotic animals including gemsbok, kudu and springbok. Wild Florida already has increased the population of the park’s existing animal residents by adding new herds of wildebeest, water buffalo, watusi cattle, antelope, brahman cattle and zebra.

“Not only will it be incredible to grow our existing herds and give them a more authentic environment than they would normally have in the wild, but to also showcase this diversity of species to guests from the comfort of their own cars,” said Sam Haught, co-owner of Wild Florida.

Wild Florida opened on Lake Cypress in 2010 and started as a 14-acre park for gator tours on airboats.
