Who wants to win a 2021 Subaru Outback?

We are thrilled to announce that Subaru America, Inc., and the Osceola Council on Aging (OCOA) have partnered to raffle a Subaru Outback to raise funds for our Osceola County seniors.

Unfortunately, with the onslaught of the 2020 pandemic hitting Central Florida especially hard, the OCOA, along with our countywide Meals on Wheels program funding capabilities have been negatively affected. Our team has been required to become extra creative in fundraising efforts due to the council needing to cancel philanthropic fundraising projects this year. Luckily, we have found new and innovative ways to create donations to support our Osceola County seniors. One of those creative efforts is partnering with Subaru America, Inc., and Don Mealy Sport Subaru South to host a Subaru Outback car raffle to raise funds to support our seniors.

The outcome? One lucky raffle winner will take home a 2021 Subaru Outback. The prizewinner will get a brand-new vehicle designed with beautiful interior, is safe on the road, while also being easy on the budget. The Outback will feature standard all-wheel drive with up to 33 MPG; advanced safety features for both standard Eyesight Driver Assist Technology and Driver Focus Distraction Mitigation System.

“All of us at Don Mealey Sport Subaru South want to do our part to help our community and empower the mission of charities like the Osceola Council on Aging,” said Antonio DeViva, Don Mealy Sport Subaru South marketing director.

Accordingly, this is not the first time Don Mealy Sport Subaru South has supported the council. The employees at the dealership, on many occasions, have helped deliver meals to Osceola County homebound seniors. We are blessed to have them along with many other generous local business partners who continue to support our local senior population.

This program, part of Subaru Share the Love, is only one of the many philanthropic programs in which Subaru supports. Over the past 20 years, Subaru of America has donated more than $190 million to causes in which the Subaru family cares about, with their employees logging more than 40,000 volunteer hours.

Programs like this with Don Mealy Sport Subaru South will help support multiple OCOA funded programs including Meals on Wheels, which presently delivers around 800 meals per day: logging in more than 200,000 meals to homebound Osceola seniors on an annual basis. With nutrition continuing to be our greatest demand, our food pantry continues to be strained while providing more food in 2020 than in previous years.

Tickets to enter the car raffle drawing are available and will run through Jan. 4, 2021; the drawing will be on Jan. 6, which is Three Kings day, a widely celebrated event in Osceola County. Raffle tickets are $30 each, with only 10,000 tickets available to increase each ticketholder’s opportunity to win.

To purchase tickets, go to www.osceolagenerations.org. Credit card purchases are preferred; checks for tickets should be made payable to the Osceola County Council on Aging, Inc., Attn: Marketing Department, 700 Generation Point, Kissimmee, FL, 34744; please note “Subaru” on the check.

For more information on this fundraising initiative, contact Belinda at the Osceola Council on Aging 407-933-9534 or email oliverab@osceola-coa.com. Finally, the winner does not need to be present to win and contributions to the program are tax deductible as allowed by the IRS.

As a reminder, the OCOA is the largest social services organization in Osceola County, helping families who are experiencing economic crisis. In 2019, the council supported more than 120,000 individuals needing short-term stabilization. Though our name implies services for the elderly only, our programs extend to Osceola families.

A 501 (c) 3 nonprofit, private charitable organization, we provide expansive programs to meet the needs of the Osceola community.

Please support this fundraising initiative with Subaru America, Inc., and Don Mealy Sport Subaru South so we can continue to aid the Osceola community; in doing so, you will be supporting many local seniors and families in need.
