Veterans can get free training from Military Broadcast Radio to learn how to use the proper equipment and run a podcast from their desktop, iPhone, and mixer. If you think about it, if you have any kind of business or cause to promote, podcasting can be a very cost-effective “force multiplier” for your marketing or advocacy program. Alternatively, you can start a side hustle or even a full-time business assisting others in hosting a podcast for their business or cause. For more information see https://bit.ly/3UzB0ma

Head out to the great outdoors

Some veterans will tell you that from their military experiences if they never have to sleep outside again, that would be just fine. For others, they just cannot get enough of the outdoor life, but cost and access may be issues. For the latter, the Florida Department of Agriculture’s Operation Outdoor Freedom provides recreational and rehabilitative opportunities to wounded veterans on state forests, agricultural lands, and private lands throughout Florida at no cost. You must have a disability rating from the VA of at least 30% or have received a Purple Heart. Since 2009 they have put on over 500 programs, ranging from hunting and fishing to wellness retreats, for over 4,000 veterans. Looking at the website, it seems the events fill up fairly quickly. Hiring our heroes

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has an ongoing program of career/ transition information and virtual hiring events. The hiring events are usually grouped by occupational fields, such as construction, tech, or aerospace, so your job search time is optimized. All categories of service members, veterans, military spouses, and caregivers to disabled veterans are eligible to participate. There are also in-person events, mostly occurring at military installations, including some overseas. See https://bit.ly/3Uz2Fn7
