Hot and dry sums up the forecast for the next seven days.
No significant rain is expected and it will be unseasonably hot with temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s. I am expecting this to be a hot spring season, with a high-pressure system sitting over the state much of the time, which will also hold down rainfall amounts and increase the threat of wildfires. On Sunday morning, there was a 600-acre fire up in Brevard County, and I am afraid there will be many more to come.
After my article on the coronavirus last week, the big question I’ve been was asked was if rain can wash the virus away? The answer is no. There is still a lot that is not known about the weather and its effects on the virus.
