Two suspects force their way into home, batter elderly victim

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men for home invasion after allegedly forcing their way inside an elderly victim’s residence and battering the individual.

According to a Sheriff’s Office report, on Nov. 9, deputies responded to a home off Disston Road in St. Cloud after receiving a report of an armed home invasion.

The two suspects Kevin Serrano, 19, and Hector Melendez-Figueroa, 20, armed with firearms, confronted at the 64-year-old victim at the front door. The suspects then forced their way into the home and one of the suspects struck the elderly victim in the face with a pistol, the report stated. They held the victim at gunpoint, and later fled the scene. The Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit identified the suspects and arrested them on Sunday. They both cooperated with the investigation.

The two were charged with armed robbery home invasion and aggravated battery and booked into the Osceola County Jail on no bond.
