Happy Thanksgiving from the weather office! We have a beautiful week of weather ahead for our area including Thanksgiving Day. Afternoon highs will be mostly in the low 80s and then dropping to near 60 at night.
There is no rain in sight through Sunday, but rain chances could come back into the forecast by Monday. Siberia and some of the countries near Russia have been seeing lots of snowfall this early in the season, and this is usually an indicator of an increase of cold and snowy weather for the United States later in the winter, so we shall see if that cold gets this far south.
For this week's Florida weather question – what is the biggest snowfall ever recorded in 24 hours in our state? On March 6, 1954, an incredible 4 inches fell in Santa Rosa County north of Pensacola in the Panhandle.
