Temps to drop into 40s today, cool weekend

After some showers and scattered thunderstorms, a cold front is going to move through and bring in some drier and cooler weather through the weekend.

We may hit only 65 degrees on Thursday and 62 Friday, as this Canadian air swings in.

Thursday night will be the coldest, with temperatures dropping into the 40s.

We are only three weeks away from the beginning of spring, and we go back on daylight savings time in two weeks.

February can be a dangerous month for tornadoes in the state of Florida.

The Kissimmee tornado of Feb. 22–23, 1998, was a devastating tornado, the deadliest tornado in Florida history.

The deadliest and most destructive tornado of the night struck the Kissimmee/ St. Cloud area, where 25 people were killed, and produced near-F4 damage. A total of 42 people were killed in Central Florida that night.

On Feb. 2, 2007, 20 people were killed in Lake and Volusia counties, as three tornadoes touched down during in the middle of the night.
