Orange-Osceola State Attorney Aramis Ayayla said the state will be seeking the death penalty against Anthony Todt, who is accused of killing his family in Celebration.
At a press conference at the Osceola County Courthouse on Tuesday, Ayala said a Florida Grand Jury had returned the indictment of four counts of capital murder and one count of animal cruelty.
The state will seek the death penalty, Ayala said.
“Despite my position on the death penalty, my death penalty review board, they move forward, they charge on, they have unanimously voted to seek death in this case,” she added.
Anthony Todt, 45, confessed to killing his wife Megan Todt, 42, and their three children – Alek, 13, Tyler, 11, and Zoe, 4, – at the family’s home in Celebration, said Osceola Sheriff Russ Gibson,. On Jan. 13, the bodies of the woman, the couple’s three children and the family dog were discovered inside the home.
