St. Cloud man accused of soliciting minor in undercover sting

A 27-year-old St. Cloud man was arrested Tuesday after investigators say he engaged in sexually explicit conversations and sent obscene photos to an undercover investigator posing as a 14-year-old girl.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began April 7 as part of an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) operation targeting suspects seeking to meet minors for sex. Isaiah Davis is accused of initiating communication with the undercover agent through the Badoo dating app.

According to arrest reports, Davis sent the decoy sexually explicit photos of himself, asked her to send nude images in return and discussed meeting for sex even though the undercover profile told him she was 14.

When investigators confronted Davis, he initially claimed he did not recall the conversations and described his dating app activity as “trolling” and “a joke.” He later admitted sending the images, saying they were old photos. He also apologized, telling deputies, “If I did, I’m sorry,” when asked about sending a sexual image to the decoy.

Detectives executed a search warrant on Davis’ Apple iPhone 11 and confirmed the Badoo account activity, chat records and a phone call to the undercover’s phone number. The photos sent to the decoy matched the background of the detached structure where Davis lives behind his parents’ home, according to reports.

Davis was charged with transmission of harmful materials to a minor, solicitation of a minor and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail under a $10,500 bond, where he remained as of Wednesday afternoon, after a first appearance in front of a judge. Davis pled no contest to misdemeanor drug possession charges in 2017 and 2018.
