Section of West Emmett Street to close Friday for sewer rehabilitation project

Toho Water Authority is announcing the temporary closure to through traffic on West Emmett Street starting on Friday, Oct. 30, at approximately 9 a.m. for a sewer rehabilitation project.

During the site preparation activities, the road closure will be between South Alden Street and South Lilly Street.

As of Monday, November 2, the road closure will also include the intersection of West Emmett Street and South Alden Street.

 The project is being carried out by Garney Construction and is expected to be completed and the road reopened by Friday evening, Nov. 13. Schedules could vary according to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution when approaching these areas, as workers will be present and speed limits may be reduced and sidewalks possibly closed and diverted. Driveways will remain accessible during the road closure. Signage will be placed as needed to keep the traveling public informed of the project.
