Section of Stewart Avenue to close for sewer project

To conduct sewer rehabilitation project, Toho Water Authority will temporary close North Stewart Avenue between W. Darlington Avenue and Broadway in downtown Kissimmee starting on Friday, Aug. 21, from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

During this period, site preparation activities and equipment installation will be done for an upcoming sewer rehabilitation project. The road closure will continue Monday, Aug. 31, at approximately 9 a.m. to conduct the rehabilitation project. During the road closure periods West Verona Street will not be accessible from North Stewart Avenue.

The project is being conducted by Garney Construction and should be completed, and the road reopened, by the evening of Friday, Sept. 4. Schedules could vary according to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution when approaching these areas, as workers will be present and speed limits may be reduced and sidewalks possibly closed and diverted.

Temporary inconveniences could be noise and vibrations; barricades and fencing for safety; trucks, machinery and equipment; and possible odors from sewer system
