Registration For Osceola School District’s Prekindergarten (VPK) Program opens Feb. 15

Osceola County parents with a child who will be 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2021, are invited to register him or her beginning Feb. 15 for the Osceola School District's 2021-22 free Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK).

VPK prepares Osceola County's littlest learners for success, as research continues to show that children who attend high-quality preschool do better when they enter kindergarten, which can make a make a big positive difference in future years.

Highlights of Osceola School District's VPK program include

•Half-day free instructional program.

•Full-day instructional program available in some locations for a fee.

•Loving environments with a low student-to-teacher ratio. 

•Qualified, experienced instructors. 

•Research-based literacy and math programs.

•Computers in every classroom.

•Health and safety measures in place, such as plexiglass dividers at tables, individual sets of materials, masks, frequent hand washing and sanitizing, and eating in the classrooms.

•Dual Language program at selected sites.

•Chess at all sites.

Parents must first apply online to receive a VPK Certificate of Eligibility from the Early Learning Coalition.  Parents must complete an online application and upload required documents at https://familyservices.floridaearlylearning.com/. Parents needing the certificate may also visit the Community Coordinated Care for Children (4C) Office, located at 2220 E. U.S. Highway 192 Unit 7 in Kissimmee, Mondays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. 

Once the certificate has been obtained, parents can then apply online beginning February 15 for a VPK seat at one of the Osceola School District sites.
