Purple Heart presentation

On Monday, Rep. Darren Soto (FL-09) presented James W. Scroggins, a Korean War veteran and Osceola County resident, with a recently awarded Purple Heart. Scroggins was enlisted in the 29th Infantry of the U.S. Army in 1948. During his time in service, he fought in Pusan, Korea, where he was wounded in a battle over the 38th parallel. Soto, along with Scroggins’ family and friends, honored the veteran for his great heroism and celebrate his lifelong dedication and service to the United States at Soto’s office in Kissimmee.
