Three preliminary subdivision plans were approved, albeit with special conditions, during the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners Meeting on May 17.

Officials approved a request for a preliminary subdivision plan for Westside Hills consisting of 270 lots and 28 tracts on approximately 77.9 acres. The project is within a Commercial Tourist Zoning District and is located west of Westside Boulevard, north of Whistling Straits Boulevard and south of Barry Road.

The School District of Osceola County said it reserves its right to ensure proper mitigation of any impact on school capacity and the collection of Educational System Impact Fees. The staff recommended approval with special conditions.

Another preliminary subdivision plan was approved for Soleil at Westside consisting of 214 lots and 33 tracts on approximately 40.2 acres. The project is within an approved Planned Development Zoning District and is located southwest of Westside Boulevard and Student Drive intersection.

The developer has mitigated any school capacity impacts with the conveyance of property and construction of a K-8 school within the former Westside DRI. Any increased residential density above the approved density of 3,855 dwelling units is subject to further negotiations with the School District of Osceola County.

That item also was approved with special conditions.

The same approval conditions were agreed upon for a preliminary subdivision plan for the Clay Whaley Subdivision consisting of 164 lots and 21 tracts on approximately 31.215 acres. That project is within a Mixed Use Zoning District and is generally located along Clay Whaley Road between Wagon Court and Silverthorne Trail.
