Two men wanted in a Poinciana homicide last month have surrendered to authorities.
Tarmetris Mack, 18, and 17-year-old Alfred Higgs, Jr., both of Poinciana, have been charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery.

According to Polk County Sheriff’s Office officials, both men turned themselves in and are now in the Polk County Jail system.
Mack and Higgs fatally shot a Poinciana man on Nov. 24 at the 7-Eleven store located at 398 Marigold Ave. in Poinciana after a drug deal that went sour.
The victim met the suspects at the store to sell them a bag of marijuana, according to a Polk Sheriff’s Office press release. According to surveillance video, one of the suspects gets into the victim’s car. During the transaction, the suspects robbed the victim. The suspect then gets out of car and there is an exchange of gunfire between them. The victim was fatally shot, and the suspects fled the scene heading westbound on Walnut Street.
"I'm so sick of hearing that drugs aren't dangerous,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. “We have a young man who's dead today because he came to a gas station to sell drugs to these two
suspects, who ripped him off, then shot and killed him."
