The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two men for first-degree murder after a drug deal went wrong in Poinciana, leaving one man dead.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating 18-year-old Tarmetris Daniel Mack and 17-year-old Alfred Higgs, Jr., both of Poinciana who both have Polk County warrants for armed robbery and first degree murder. Mack and Higgs fatally shot a Poinciana man on Monday at the 7-Eleven store located at 398 Marigold Ave. in Poinciana.

The victim met the suspects at the store to sell them a bag of marijuana, according to a Polk Sheriff’s Office press release. During the transaction, the suspects robbed the victim, which resulted in the exchange of gunfire between them. The victim was fatally shot, and the suspects fled the scene heading westbound on Walnut Street. They are wanted for first-degree murder and armed robbery.
Mack is 6 feet 1 inch tall and 170 pounds. Higgs is 5 feet 8 inches tall and 145 pounds. They may be driving Mack’s 2016 blue Chevrolet Malibu with Florida tag PVZB39.
