In the spirit of holiday giving, the Osceola County Association of Realtors (OSCAR) donated $1,000 to the Guardian Ad Litem Program Osceola, Ninth Circuit and $1,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs Osceola to support their programs.

OSCAR also donated 64 $25 gift cards to the Osceola Council on Aging Senior Santa program.

“Now more than ever, we need to offer support to our community and our kids. This year has been especially difficult to provide help with the growing health concerns affecting our home and our nation. But during the season of giving, it is our responsibility to assist those in need and give back to our community.” said OSCAR President Donnie Martinez.

In the past, OSCAR would collect Christmas gifts for the children in the foster care program and donate the toys to the Guardian Ad Litem. For several years, the association has partnered with Guardian Ad Litem collecting gifts for more than 100 children in the foster care program annually. Due to COVID-19, the association is donating monetarily to both organizations in lieu of physical gifts or other donated items.

Since 1986, the Osceola Council on Aging has maintained one specific focus each holiday season: Making certain that no elderly person in the community spends the most joyous time of year alone. This year it was more important than ever to comfort seniors and make sure they were cared for during the holidays. Their “Senior Santa” program provides the warmth, laughter and good nutrition vital to our seniors during the holidays. This year, the seniors received their holiday dinner and a special gift delivered by a caring community volunteer on Christmas Day.

Since 1944, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida has helped inspire hope and opportunity in those who need it most – at-risk children in our local community. The mission of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
