Osceola History announces that it has joined Museums for All, a signature access program of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), administered by the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM), to encourage people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum-going habits.

The program supports those receiving food assistance (SNAP) benefits by offering discounted admission when visiting Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek.

With the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, adults will receive admission of $2 per person and children under 13 will be admitted free. Up to four people may be admitted using the discount. The EBT card cannot be used to pay for admission, but is used to identify qualifying visitors. Similar free and reduced admission is available to eligible members of the public at more than 500 museums across the country. Museums for All is part of the Osceola History’s broad commitment to seek, include, and welcome all audiences.

Museums for All helps expand access to museums and also raise public awareness about how museums in the U.S. are reaching their entire communities. More than 500 institutions participate in the initiative, including art museums, children’s museums, science centers, botanical gardens, zoos, history museums, and more. Participating museums are located nationwide, representing 48 states. A listing of participating museums is available at www.museums4all.org.

Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek is located at 2491 Babb Road in Kissimmee. The village is an outdoor venue that includes a collection of historic buildings that tell the story of Osceola County’s early settlers. Osceola History also operates the Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum, located at 4155 W. Vine St., Kissimmee. The History Museum offers free admission for all visitors. Both locations are open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Monday.
