Orlando City soccer player arrested for sexual assault in Osceola

 An Orlando City soccer player and a second man were arrested on Tuesday by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office for sexual assault.
Jonathan Suarez-Cortes, a defender for the soccer club and his brother ,Rafael Suarez Jr., were booked into the Osceola County Jail on no bond.  On Monday at approximately 2:08 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office responded to a location in Orlando after receiving the sexual assault report because the alleged incident occurred in Osceola County on Sunday, according to a report. 
Deputies met with the adult victim, who stated that two males sexually assaulted her. Based on this information, a special investigation detective responded and took over the case.
During the course of the investigation, the victim provided more evidence supporting the allegation. Based on the information provided by the victim, detectives were able to positively identify Suarez-Cortes and Suarez as the suspects involved in the incident and developed probable cause for their arrest.
Both men were arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Osceola County Jail for sexual battery.
Orlando City released a statement on Tuesday saying, “Orlando City SC became aware that defender Jonathan Suarez was arrested in Osceola County. The Club takes these allegations very seriously and is currently gathering more information. No further comment will be provided by the Club until additional investigation of the alleged incident is complete.”
