The Museum of Military History will be observing National POW/MIA Recognition Day with a special Commander’s Call Event on Sept. 19 that will begin at 11a.m. at the museum. The ceremony will pay homage to all of the past and present POW/MIA service members and will be conducted by the Museum staff. Honorary services performed by the 463rd Air Cadet Squadron Honor Guard and members of the Osceola County Veterans Council (OCVC). Special Guest Speaker will be determined closer to the event.

Refreshments will be provided. Custom made dog tags will be available for purchase with all proceeds supporting the museum’s ability to educate people on the rich history of the U.S. military services, their contribution to our nation’s freedoms and to gain a better understanding of what it means to serve. Former military POWs will be admitted free with a reduced fee for entrance to the museum for all others. Families are encouraged to attend and honor these military heroes that have given so much to secure the freedoms we enjoy today.
