Looking for ways to give back, but feeling stuck at home? Here are a few ideas for how you can help Osceola’s community from the safety and comfort of your own home.

 Honor a caregiver (AdventHealth)

A simple “thank you” or thoughtful gift can mean the world to a doctor, nurse, or caregiver during these unprecedented times. You can also send a word of encouragement to front-line teams who are working tirelessly through this health pandemic.

To email a thank you note or words of encouragement, visit https://www.adventhealth.com/coronavirus-resource-hub/form/honor-a-caregiver

Build hygiene kits at home (Clean the World)

Clean the World’s mission has never been more relevant than now. During these trying times, are you looking for a great community giving-back activity for your employees to do while working from home? Companies large and small are working with this passionate organization to drive real impact in their local communities.

Send love to seniors (Osceola Council on Aging)

During this time, when so many seniors feel isolated and lonely due to the COVID-19 quarantine, Osceola Council on Aging is looking for help sending support and positive thoughts to seniors by mailing or emailing a card, picture, drawing, or letter for a bit of cheer.

Mail can be sent to 2350 North Central Ave., Kissimmee, FL 34741. Emails can be sent to housing@osceola-coa.comPlease note: Items mailed will be held in quarantine for a period to ensure the wellbeing of the recipients.

 Social media ambassador (Sunshine Foundation)

Be an ambassador for Sunshine Foundation by following, sharing, liking and commenting on the organization’s social media posts. Create a Facebook fundraiser and choose Sunshine Foundation as the supported charity. Share and invite friends to contribute. The best part is 100 percent of all donations through Facebook go directly to the foundation.

Visit the Adopt A Dream page and fundraise for children by sharing their link on social media. You can also find children to help sponsor on the Adopt A Dream waiting list. If you’d like to recruit a group of friends, family or co-workers to help, a fundraising link can be set up for each person to share and track. Please send the list of people participating (first name, last name initial and email address) to adoptadream@sunshinefoundation.org
