A 22-year-old Kissimmee woman was killed when she was struck crossing Poinciana Boulevard near Poinciana High School Sunday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

According to an incident report, the crash happened at 8:30 p.m. Sunday night at Poinciana and Waterview Estates Boulevard. A Ford F150 driven by a 28-year-old Kissimmee man was traveling southbound when it struck the woman, who was crossing in a westerly direction (toward Poinciana High) in the marked crosswalk and walked into the path of the truck. A witness said the driver had a green light.

After the collision, FHP's report states the driver, who was not injured, continued southbound on Poinciana Boulevard, but returned to the scene, advising he did not know what he struck. The victim was pronounced dead on scene, the report states. FHP notes the crash remains under investigation.
