Kissimmee man, 70, hit and killed crossing U.S. 192

A 70-year-old Kissimmee man was hit and killed by a vehicle when he tried to cross U.S. Highway 192 on Thursday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 31-year-old Naples man was driving a sedan-type vehicle westbound in the center lane of U.S. 192 at about 8:30 p.m. When the pedestrian attempted to cross the highway to the north, the Naples man couldn't avoid hitting him, a patrol report stated. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
