The Kissimmee Fire Department will participate in the “Light the Night” event from through Oct. 4 to pay tribute to fallen firefighters nationwide.
“We are honored to join fire departments across the nation for ‘Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters.' This is an annual event sponsored by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to recognize and honor those firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice. These are America’s fallen heroes. With the National Fire Academy unable to do their annual Fallen Firefighter Memorial Weekend due to the pandemic, this is just a small way for departments to remember those who have died in the line of duty. We must never forget their sacrifices,” said Kissimmee Fire Chief Jim Walls.
