Humana, one of Florida’s health and wellbeing companies, is celebrating this holiday season by inviting local seniors to share a free healthy and nutritious meal, and good company, at Humana’s neighborhood center in Kissimmee.

It will be Friday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Humana center, 3189 W. Vine St., Kissimmee.

The event will feature a buffet-style brunch with a variety of healthy foods, including options for those with food allergies, with information on nutrition and healthy eating from Humana’s Kissimmee health educator, along with a Resource Fair for visitors.

This event, free for all seniors and visitors to attend, is an example of Humana’s commitment to supporting the Greater Orlando community and raising awareness of food insecurity, social isolation and loneliness among area seniors – all social determinants of health that have implications on health and wellbeing, according to a company press release.

The holidays can be a particularly lonely time for many seniors, and this event is a great way for local seniors to make friends and continue these relationships at Humana’s neighborhood location.

Humana’s Kissimmee neighborhood center offers a variety of health and wellness classes, including healthy cooking classes, social activities and informational seminars. The programs are offered each month for members and the community at no cost.
