The field of nominees for both the Osceola School District's top employee awards – Teacher of the Year and School-Related Employee of the Year – has been narrowed down to the top 10 finalists in each category.
The following educators have been named as the top 10 finalists for Osceola School District's 2021 Teacher of the Year Award:
•Debra Bohanan - Digital Video Teacher at Zenith Accelerated Learning Academy
•William Carswell - Music Teacher at Osceola County School for the Arts
•Brian Joseph- Media Specialist at Harmony Middle
•Jonathan Motta - Geometry and Algebra II Honors Teacher at NeoCity Academy
•Crystal Nori-Gross - ASD Teacher at St. Cloud Elementary
•Heather Rasmussen - 4th and 5th Grade ESE Inclusion Teacher at Kissimmee Elementary
•Rachel Smith - AVID Teacher at St. Cloud Middle
•Erica Stewart - VE Teacher at Central Avenue Elementary
•Darrian Tanner - English Teacher at Liberty High
•Vincent Vecchio - Social Studies Teacher at Horizon Middle
The following employees have been named as the top 10 finalists for Osceola School District's 2020 School-Related Employee of the Year Award:
•Patricia Allen - Paraprofessional at Mill Creek Elementary
•Shannon Allen - Secretary at Harmony Community School
•Elida Andino - Secretary at Sunrise Elementary
•Yolanda Casillas - ESE Paraprofessional at Discovery Intermediate
•George Clevenger - Mobile STEM Driver and Fleet Manager in Special Programs
•James Graves - School Technology Specialist at Highlands Elementary
•Judith Lowell - Office Assistant at Narcoossee Middle
•Debra McCulley - Paraprofessional at Zenith Accelerated Learning Academy
•Victoria Palmer - Attendance Assistant in Student Services
•Suzanne Rabitaille - Retirement Specialist in Human Resources
Judges selected the finalists based on their applications. Each finalist was surprised at their work location by Superintendent Debra Pace to announce their finalist standing. The names of Osceola County's 2021 Teacher of the Year and Osceola County's 2020 School-Related Employee of the Year will be announced at the Education Awards Ceremony held on March 12 at Omni ChampionsGate.
