FHP: Kissimmee woman killed in Pleasant Hill Road crash Saturday

Florida Highway Patrol reports a 62-year-old Kissimmee woman was killed Saturday in a crash that slowed southbound Pleasant Hill Road traffic for hours during the afternoon.

The crash happened at Pleasant Hill and Pineridge Circle, between Harbor Road and Grenada Boulevard, just after 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

The woman was attempting to turn left in her Toyota Camry from Pineridge onto northbound Pleasant Hill when it turned into the path of a southbound Dodge Challenger driven by a 27-year-old Kissimmee man, and they collided, FHP spokesperson Tara Crescenzi said.

The woman was transported to HCA Hospital Osceola, where she was pronounced dead. The man was transported to HCA with non-life threatening injuries.

It is not yet clear if speed was a factor in the crash. Southbound traffic was blocked for about three hours Saturday during the cleanup and investigation, which FHP says is ongoing.
