Florida Highway Patrol is investigating two separate fatal traffic incidents that occurred Thursday.

Just before 7:30 p.m., a 61-year-old Kissimmee man was killed and three passengers across three vehicles were injured on Michigan Avenue in Kissimmee near Cypress Arbor Place, between Donegan and Carroll streets. His Acura SUV was headed northbound   when, for an unknown reason, it swerved into the southbound lanes.

The left front of the SUV then struck the left rear of a southbound Toyota Corolla, causing that car to spin and strike a Ford van traveling north behind the Acura. The Acura then continued across the southbound lanes, struck a curb and flipped on its roof into a drainage ditch, according to FHP's crash report.

The Acura driver was pronounced dead on scene; its passenger, and the two passengers of the Corolla were transported to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital with serious injuries. The report stated all those involved were wearing seat belts.

Three hours earlier, FHP said an Orlando man was killed Thursday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding on the side of Simpson Road was stuck by a car making a legal right turn.

The 25-year-old was transported to UCF Lake Nona Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased after the crash, which occurred around 4:15 p.m. Thursday.

According to FHP's crash report, the Honda motorcyclist was traveling eastbound above the speed limit on the sidewalk on the south side of Simpson near Boggy Terrace Drive. A Mitsubishi sedan driven by a 27-year-old Orlando man, who was not injured, collided with the motorcycle when it turned right into a driveway.

FHP says the crashes remain under investigation.
