For the second year in a row, the Osceola Council On Aging (OCOA) is hosting a Fall Community Resource Expo for Osceola residents.

The Expo will be held Tuesday, Oct. 10, from 1-4 p.m., on the OCOA campus (700 Generation Point). The event is free, open to the public, and organized as a family-friendly program.

With last year’s inaugural event being such a success, we have planned for and are anticipating this year’s Expo to be even more expansive with both vendors and attendees.

“The mission of this Expo is to introduce informational resources, programs, and services offered in our community in which residents may not be familiar with,” said Lisa Wilkinson, The Bev Venue Coordinator and OCOA Team Specialist.

From healthcare organizations to pharmacies, law enforcement, colleges, insurance companies, brokers, and even churches, this upcoming event, sponsored by the OCOA and Florida Blue, will give guests the opportunity to interact with local vendors, meet area officials and win raffle prizes every half hour.

“Florida Blue is excited to serve as a sponsor of the Osceola Council on Aging’s Fall Community Resource Expo at the BEV Center. For close to 80 years, we have cared for the people and communities of Florida by working together to help them achieve better health and find health solutions that truly meet their needs,” said Florida Blue Central Florida Market President Tony Jenkins. “Our partnership perfectly reflects our local hands-on approach to healthcare, which gives us a deeper understanding of the unique and diverse communities we serve throughout Central Florida and the challenges they face.

“Supporting events like this helps bring our community closer together by providing opportunities to educate residents on the unique programs and services available to them. We are thrilled to join the amazing list of participating agencies and look forward to connecting with everyone.”

The event will offer participating businesses the opportunity to promote products and services directly to Osceola residents while also giving the OCOA the opportunity to highlight the services we provide within the Osceola community.

“With nearly seventy businesses, service organizations, cultural entities, and non profits exhibiting, we are expecting hundreds of Osceola residents to be in attendance,” added Wilkinson.

A few of the participating organizations include Advent Health Research Institute, CVS Health, Careersource, City RX Pharmacy, Cornerstone Hospice, Children’s Home Society, Epilepsy Association of Central Florida, the Florida Department Health Department, Habitat for Humanity, Halifax Health, Humana, Orlando Health, Osceola Arts Center, and Walmart Health.

So, make sure to ‘save the date’ to attend this widely anticipated second annual Community Expo at The Bev, on the OCOA campus. For general information, contact Lisa Wilkinson at 407-933-9534.
