The Osceola Council on Aging is preparing for one of our most anticipated events of the year, on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. at The BEV Events Center, on the OCOA campus.
For this special occasion, The BEV will be transformed into an elegant winter setting, complete with shimmering lights, frosted accents, snow-inspired décor, and beautiful seasonal touches. Guests will enjoy an evening designed to bring friends, neighbors, community partners, and volunteers together for a celebration and meaningful purpose.
This signature fundraising event also brings business leaders, elected officials, and donors, throughout Central Florida to celebrate the spirit of giving and the importance of supporting those in need. Their continued generosity and commitment are an important part of our ability to serve the community.
Thanks to the generosity of Presenting Sponsor Insurance Office of America along with our many valued sponsors and community partners, the evening will feature a gourmet dinner, live music, special performances, dancing, and a silent auction offering a variety of unique items and experiences.
“Our annual Gala is more than a fundraiser. It is a night for our community to come together, enjoy wonderful company, plenty of laughter, dancing, and maybe a few surprises along the way,” said Sonya Deese Byrnes, Chair of the Osceola Council on Aging Board of Directors.
While the Gala promises an enjoyable evening of entertainment and celebration, its purpose extends far beyond the festivities.
As the OCOA enters its 56th year of serving the community, our mission remains focused on promoting independence, dignity, and self-sufficiency for seniors, disabled adults, disadvantaged families, and individuals facing difficult circumstances.
What began more than five decades ago as an organization dedicated to serving older adults has grown into a comprehensive network of programs and services that touch thousands of lives throughout Osceola County each year.
From delivering nutritious meals to homebound seniors through Meals on Wheels, to providing transportation, healthcare, affordable housing, in-home assistance, and emergency services, OCOA continues to respond to the changing needs of our community.
Behind every program is an individual or family whose life is positively impacted by the services we provide. For some, it may be a nutritious meal and a friendly visit from a volunteer. For others, it may be transportation to a medical appointment, assistance with housing, or the support needed to remain safely and independently in their own home.
When someone supports our Gala, they are doing much more than enjoying a beautiful evening. They are helping put food on a seniors table, supporting individuals who want to remain safe and independent in their homes, while providing hope to families facing difficult circumstances. These are the needs we see in our community every day, and the generosity of our supporters allows us to continue making a difference.
As the cost of living continues to place additional financial pressures on seniors and families, the need for essential social services continues to grow. Fundraising events such as the Winter Wonderland Gala provide critical support which helps the OCOA meet those needs while reaching individuals who might otherwise go without assistance.
Strong communities are built through partnerships, compassion, and a shared responsibility to care for one another. The Gala is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate those relationships while welcoming new friends and supporters to our mission.
