Do you owe fees to the Osceola County courts related to your driver license? Is it suspended, and are the fees to get it back in standing a bit much?

Those who have cases in Osceola County that are currently referred to a collection agency by the Osceola Clerk of the Circuit Court & County Comptroller for past due court obligations can feel quite a burden.

Those drivers have the chance to lift that burden beginning Monday, March 25 during the annual Operation Green Light program.

Through the state-sponsored program, which Osceola County participates of annually, those with suspended driver licenses will be able to pay overdue court obligations, including unpaid traffic tickets, and save as much as 20 percent in collection surcharges and potentially get their licenses reinstated.

In Osceola County, Operation Green Light will be held online now through April 19, and in person Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For added convenience, extended hours are available until 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the event.

Additionally, the Florida Licensing on Wheels (FLOW) bus will be at the Courthouse on Thursday, March 28 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to assist with issuing new driver licenses, obtaining identification cards, or other motor vehicle related matters.

Keep in mind that the Clerk’s office must confirm there are no out-of-county or state suspensions or revocations, child support suspensions, or judicial department ordered revocations of a license; individuals with these restrictions may not be eligible to reinstate a license same day during Operation Green Light. Those seeking reinstation are encouraged to check the status of their driver’s license online at https://services.flhsmv. gov/DLCheck/.

Osceola’s Clerk & Comptroller Office first offered Operation Green Light in 2015. Officials said that, in 2023, 585 individuals participated and saved over $34,000 in collections fees. Issues on over 450 licenses were cleared.

“It is our sincere hope that individuals with suspended driver licenses will take advantage of this limited time opportunity to have their additional fees waived,” Clerk of the Circuit Court & County Comptroller Kelvin Soto said. “Driving on a suspended license can have significant consequences and we encourage those eligible to let us help them get back on the road soundly.”
