The city of Kissimmee joins the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and other entities to celebrate the statewide Mobility Week from Oct. 30 through Nov. 6.
An effective transportation system for residents and visitors was created through strategic planning with the city of Kissimmee’s elected officials and staff. People can safely walk, ride their bike, or take the train or a bus ride to their destination. By incorporating different ways to travel around Kissimmee, the city has become one of the few Central Florida locations to access different transportation modes directly.
FDOT has also debuted the Mobility Week Virtual Conference Center to increase availability to more people throughout the state. By visiting the Mobility Week Virtual Conference Center, people can learn about innovative programs and projects by exploring a series of virtual rooms representing different regions. Learn more about the Virtual Conference Center at virtual.mobilityweekfl.com.
Mobility Week also features a statewide bicycle challenge known as the Love to Ride Florida challenge, and the city of Kissimmee has registered. The competition kicks off on Oct. 30 and lasts through Nov. 30. For more information and to register, go to www.lovetoride.net/florida.
