Fresh off election to her second term in the Florida House of Representatives, Kristen Arrington, has filed to run for State Senate District 25. It will be an open seat, as current Senator Victor Torres will reach his term limit at the end of this term.

Senate District 25 encompasses all of Osceola County and a portion of Southwest Orange County, but more than three-quarters of its voters live in Osceola County, where Arrington attended grade school and college and runs a small business.

Arrington noted Osceola County’s state Senator hasn’t resided in the county in over 20 years.

"It's an honor representing my home-town and I love being the strong voice that our community deserves,” she said. “The redistricting process last year created an Osceola majority Senate Seat. I feel it is important that someone who truly knows, understands, and is committed to Osceola fill this seat. I am excited that our community has the opportunity to have a Senator represent us who is from Osceola.”
