Thousands brave heat for Kissimmee's Juneteenth celebration
The community braved the heat Saturday and came together at Lakefront Park for great music, family activities, local vendors, and fellowship—something for all ages —at the City of Kissimmee’s Juneteenth Festival!
Juneteenth is the newest federal holiday, commemorating the announcement of the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation on June 19, 1865. While the city celebrated Saturday, this upcoming Friday, government offices, libraries, post offices and banks will be closed; however, trash collection will still take place.
Intensity of Orlando was the main header singing and their R&B rhythm mixed with some Soul was very captivating. he 40+ Double Dutch Club kept the festivities active and engaged as they invited all ages to jump rope—or learn how!
